Enterprise systems are the backbone of most western organizations in terms of IT and process infrastructure. During the past decade, the underlying business models and the way that these systems are packaged, procured and delivered has changed dramatically. This opens up for new takes on corporate IT, with new opportunities and threats. The intended target group for this book consists of both students of and practitioners within  enterprise systems. In terms of students, the authors hope to add both introductory knowledge and insights into the world of enterprise systems, as well as into the shift to platforms that the market is currently experiencing. This includes students of both technology and business. In terms of practitioners, the authors hope to add applied knowledge related to how vendors, consultants and users should navigate their respective businesses in relation to the current shift in market.
